A one-day educational program tagged “Education is Not a Scam” was successfully held at Community Secondary School Nkpolu for adolescents with the aim of encouraging students to value education and remain committed to academic excellence despite the social and economic challenges facing young people today.
The program brought together students, teachers, facilitators and invited guests who emphasized the importance of education as a vital tool for personal development, leadership and national growth. The event was organized to address the growing misconception among some youths that education is no longer relevant in achieving success.
During the interactive sessions, speakers enlightened the students on the benefits of education, self-discipline, hard work and the dangers of engaging in social vices, internet fraud, cultism and other activities that negatively affect the future of adolescents. The facilitators encouraged the students to remain focused, develop positive values and acquire both academic and vocational skills that would prepare them for future opportunities.
The program also featured motivational talks, question-and-answer sessions and practical discussions on career development, peer pressure and responsible decision-making. Students actively participated in the discussions and shared their thoughts and experiences concerning education and societal expectations.
Teachers and school administrators appreciated the initiative and described the program as timely, impactful and inspiring. They encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and make good use of the knowledge gained during the event.
At the end of the program, the students expressed gratitude to the organizers and facilitators for the enlightening sessions. The event concluded successfully with a renewed commitment among the adolescents to pursue their education with determination and confidence.
