'She Can Lead' Campaign

YOUNG GIRLS DRIVING CHANGE

This campaign aims at building the capacity of girls and young women for leadership purposes and to also enhance their zeal and technical knowhow for political participation. Young girls shape decisions that affect their lives and leading change within their own communities, influencing decisions at higher levels Advocacy on girls leadership, changes in practices, laws, policies, regulations and guidelines Civic education and political participation to become drivers of change. Capacity building workshops are held for these purposes and advocacies with traditional and community leaders for more involvement of gild and young women in politics at all levels including at grassroots levels. Once in leadership roles, women make a difference. But they are under-represented in top positions, whether in elected office, the civil service, corporate boardrooms or academia. MOGCI advocates for reforms to ensure women’s fair access to decision-making. Our programmes on leadership and participation provide training for women political candidates to help build their skills, as well as voter and civic education and sensitization campaigns on gender equality. We work with INEC, Security Agencies and civil society organizations to ensure that elections uphold women’s rights, including to vote and campaign free from violence. We also support women’s grass-roots groups and help give women a greater voice on a range of issues.
