MY HEALTH MY PRIDE CAMPAIGN
This project aims to create awareness on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and young women. It targets elimination of sexually transmitted diseases, protection against unwanted pregnancies, and advocacies to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Women and Girls need to be healthy in order to realize their full potentials. This includes proper nutrition, sexual and reproductive rights, and mental health. We work to end practices that bring danger to women and girls, including child marriage, female genital cutting and support and empower women and Girls living with HIV and AIDS and No to Teen Pregnancy project. Girls and young women should have controls over their lives and bodies, support of girls menstrual health, our comprehensive sexuality and contraception services to rural girls and their families reaching more than 700 girls.
Health care services such as the provisions of mosquito nets, vitamins angels, training of mothers on managing common illnesses among under five. Management of Childhood Trauma, improving community water, sanitation and hygiene. Intergenerational dialogues where young and old people discuss patriarchal norms, positive masculinities and gender stereotypes which drive violence and abuse. Say NO to teenage pregnancy campaign seeks to change attitudes and customs that drive early pregnancy and child marriage.
Activities include education and mobilization of community leaders, youth movement building, radio shows, panel discussions, trainings on the prevention of female genital mutilation FGM in partnership with unicef, ministry of health, women affairs etc. Youth leaders trained as peer educators on modern contraceptive methods, sexually transmitted diseases, relationships, preventing sexual violence , improving mental health and gender equality, providing comprehensive education, strengthening health services for young people, improving menstrual health and hygiene, preventing harmful practices, especially child marriage and FGM, reduction of sexual violence as rape, unsafe abortion etc.
